DHAKA, Dec. 28 (BSS) - Bangladeshi Prime Minister Begum KhaledaZia Tuesday reiterated her grief at the loss of lives and propertyin six Asian countries in Sunday's earthquake and sea wave.
She expressed her shock when Phithak Phrombubpha, the outgoing ambassador of Thailand, one of the affected countries, called on her at the Prime Minister's Office here, the official news agency BSS said.
Khaleda Zia assured the envoy of all cooperation from Bangladesh to help Thailand face the aftermath of disaster.
She requested the Thai authorities to inform Bangladesh what kind of assistance they need at the moment.
The prime minister also requested the envoy to convey her condolence to the Thai king over the death of a member of the royal family in the disaster.
The Thai envoy conveyed the thanks of Thai Prime Minister Dr Thaksin Shinawatra to Khaleda Zia for sending a massage to him expressing her shock over the catastrophe on Sunday.
Various issues relating to the growing bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Thailand also came up for discussion duringthe farewell call on by Phithak Phrombubpha. Enditem
