Cambodia extends sympathy to tsunami-hit countries

    PHNOM PENH, Dec. 28 (Xinhuanet) -- Cambodian government Tuesday extended its sympathy and cordial regards to four disaster-hit Asian countries for their losses and casualties caused by powerful earthquake and tsunami on Sunday.

    Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen on Tuesday send separate letters to leaders of Thailand, India, Indonesia and Sir Lanka to expressed sympathy for their losses.

    Moreover, Hun Sen, on behalf of the royal government of Cambodia, donated 40,000 US dollars to the four countries, 10,000 dollars for each.

    A huge earthquake rocked off the west coast of the Indonesia island of Sumatra on Sunday, setting off tsunami that claimed morethan 24,000 lives so far.
