www.chinaview.cn 2004-12-28 21:25:52

GAZA, Dec. 28 (Xinhuanet) -- Two Palestinian militants escaped on Tuesday an Israeli assassination attempt as they managed to jump from the car that was targeted by an Israeli missile fired from an unmanned pilotless drone, Palestinian witnesses said.

They said that the two militants were in a local car that drove near the southern Gaza Strip town of Khan Younis, adding that the missile hit the car's front.

The witnesses said that shortly before the missile was fired, the two militants managed to jump from the car and escaped the attack unhurt, adding that the car was partially destroyed and burned.

The witnesses said that the two are members of al Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Islamic Hamas movement in southern Gaza Strip.
