SANTIAGO, Dec. 27 (Xinhuanet) -- Representatives of Chile and South Korea are going to meet here on Wednesday to discuss the peaceful use and development of nuclear energy, the Chilean daily El Mercurio reported Monday.

A wide range of issues will be discussed at the meeting, including the production of radio-pharmacological substances, the use of nuclear technology in agriculture, medical applications, the development of alternative energy, and the design, construction and function of small and medium-sized nuclear plants in Asian countries, said the report.

South Korean representatives will also share experiences with Chilean professionals in the mining, energy and health industries.

The upcoming meeting is part of an agenda set in the 2002 Bilateral Agreement on Cooperation, in which the two countries agreed to establish and promote cooperation in nuclear energy. Enditem
