Tsunami claims 73 lives, 1200 missing in Andhra Pradesh

    NEW DELHI, Dec. 27 (Xinhuanet) - - Tsunami that lashed coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh, India yesterday has claimed 73 lives while 1,200 persons were still missing in coastal villages, according to PTI.

    However, according to reports the toll has increased to 104. Six coastal districts of Nlllore, Prakasham, Krishna, Guntur, west Godavari and east Godavari were hit by tsunami triggered by a powerful earthquake in Indonesia.

    Over 22,000 people have been evacuated to safer places in the six coastal districts, sources added. Enditem
