MOSCOW, Dec. 26 (Xinhuanet) -- Russia launched a rocket sending three navigation satellites into orbit on Sunday, the Russian Space Forces said.
Two GLONASS satellites and a new-generation GLONASS-M were brought to orbit at the height of about 36,000 kilometers by a Proton-K rocket that was launched from Russia's Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, Itar-Tass news agency reported.
The GLONASS satellites have both military and civil uses and supply precise navigation information of air, sea, ground and space-based objects round the clock.
The modified GLONASS-M, which was first put in orbit in last December, can provide more precise navigation information to an unlimited number of clients around the world. Enditem
