ISLAMABAD, Dec. 20 (Xinhuanet) -- Pakistani Prime Minister ShaukatAziz Monday said the government was focusing on efforts to make Pakistan a key player in information technology (IT) by fully utilizing its manpower and expertise, the official Associated Press of Pakistan reported here.

Talking to Chairman Middle East of Microsoft Corporation, Emre Berkin, who called on him at the Prime Minister's House, Aziz renewed government's strong commitment to speedy development of the IT sector in the country.

Aziz said the growth of IT and Telecom sectors was one of the key priorities of his government.

The prime minister said Pakistan was striving to create a largepool of talented and qualified IT professionals to meet the challenges of globalization and play a major role in software development.
