GAZA, Dec. 20 (Xinhuanet) -- Al Aqsa Brigades, the armed wing of the Palestinian mainstream Fatah movement, on Monday called for urgent mobilization to respond to the Israeli military incursion in the souther Gaza town of Khan Younis.
Eleven Palestinians were killed, many of them militants, 50 others injured and 39 houses destroyed over the weekend when the Israeli army carried out an operation to retaliate against militants who fired rockets and mortar shells at the nearby Jewish settlements.
The group vowed in a leaflet sent to reporters that "the reaction to this massacre would be tough and painful", adding "the Zionists (Israelis) would never enjoy security and calmness."
"The Zionists are carrying different types of massacres against our people in addition to making our people's life so hard, and our reactions to this policy would be hard and painful," said the leaflet.
It also appealed to the Palestinians to unite regardless of disagreements and disputes, and called on the Palestinian National Authority to adopt the choice of resistance against Israel. Enditem |
