Afghan military launches operation to regain control of prison

    KABUL, Dec. 17 (Xinhuanet) --The Afghan National Army Friday evening launched military operation to end a standoff at Kabul's main Pul-e-Charki prison after an escape attempt.

    The Afghan military force started the operation at around 5:30 p.m. with firing light weapons towarad the prison yard, while two tanks and motar were standing by.
