    BEIJING, Dec. 17 -- A fire at a swanky London hotel forced dozens of guests onto the street Friday, resulting in the cancellation of a news conference with Brad Pitt and Matt Damon.

A fire at a swanky London hotel forced dozens of guests onto the street Friday, resulting in the cancellation of a news conference with Brad Pitt and Matt Damon.

    London Fire Brigade said four engines were called to Claridges Hotel in the city's Tony Mayfair district after a small fire broke out in the kitchen.

    Damon, Rolling Stones front man Mick Jagger and comic actor Jim Carrey, who in London promoting "Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events", all left the building.

    Promoters scrapped a news conference with Pitt and Damon to promote the film "Ocean's 12" that was due to have been held at the hotel.
