GAZA, Dec. 16 (Xinhuanet) -- The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) on Thursday called upon foreigners who work in the Jewish settlements in the Gaza Strip to leave and return to their own countries.
On Tuesday, Hamas militants fired several mortar shells at the Jewish settlement of Naveh Dekalim in southern Gaza, killing a Thaiwoman who worked at the settlement as a farmer.
Following the incident, a Thai diplomatic delegation arrived in Israel to evacuate dozens of Thai workers from Jewish settlements.
Hamas welcomed the Thai government's decision, calling upon other foreign countries to evacuate their workers in the Jewish settlements too.
Sami Abu Zuhri, a Hamas spokesman in Gaza, said the foreign countries were not part of this ongoing conflict and called upon foreign workers to leave. Enditem
