GAZA, Dec. 12 (Xinhuanet) -- Several Israelis were
wounded when Palestinian militants set off a large explosion on the
borderbetween southern Gaza town of Rafah and Egypt on Sunday, an Israel Radio
reported.
The radio reported that at least seven Israeli soldiers were injured, adding that Israeli army helicopters
and more forcesarrived at the place to get survivals outside the post to
hospital sand for treatment.
Witnesses were quoted as saying that two Palestinian
militants set off the large explosion to attack an Israeli army post on
theborders.
They said that a huge explosion was first heard
inside the post that the Israeli army uses to send tanks and armor vehicles
intothe town of Rafah and its refugee camp, and then they heard exchange of fire
inside the Israeli army post.
According to the witnesses, the two militants, one is
a member of Hamas armed wing Izzedin al Qassam, and the other of Fatahmovement
planted 1.5 ton of explosives into a tunnel that Palestinian militants dug under
the Israeli army post.A local Radio station quoted residents as saying that a
huge explosion was heard in the area, adding that the Israeli army postwas
destroyed, where dust and black smoke came out from the post.The residents said
that after the explosion occurred, the twoPalestinian militants managed to
infiltrate into the area untilthey reached the post and opened fire at the
