GAZA, Dec. 9 (Xinhuanet) -- Beirut has decided to help improve the living conditions of the Palestinian refugees in its territory after a successful meeting between Lebanese and Palestinian leaders, official sources said Thursday.
They said the decision was made following talks between a Palestinian delegation led by PLO chief Mahmoud Abbas and Lebanese President Emile Lahoud, Prime Minister Omar Karameh on Wednesday.
It is the first step of its kind to improve the living conditions of about 400,000 Palestinian refugees in Lebanon, the sources added.
There are 12 Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon, with Lebanese troops deployed around them. Residents there live in very poorc onditions. Enditem |
