www.chinaview.cn 2004-12-06 23:27:19

AMMAN, Dec. 6 (Xinhuanet) -- Jordanian government on Monday condemned the terror attack on the US consulate in the Saudi city of Jeddah.

This criminal attack is baseless and violated all the human morality and justice, said government spokeswoman Asma Khader.

The spokeswoman added that Jordan would stand with the Saudi people to try to eliminate terror.

The US consulate in the Red Sea city of Jeddah was under attack on Monday and the Saudi security forces sealed off the US mission in the wake, the pan-Arab al-Jazeera TV reported.

Attackers killed at least four Saudi guards and took 18 local staff hostages, security sources were quoted as saying.

Witnesses said the Saudi security forces broke into the compound and chased the attackers. Enditem
