RIYADH, Dec. 6 (Xinhuanet) -- The US embassy in Saudi Arabia said gunmen attacked its consulate in the Red Sea city of Jeddah on Monday.

    "I can confirm there has been an attack on the US consulate in Jeddah. The incident is ongoing with Saudi security forces trying to secure the building," said US embassy spokeswoman Carole Kalin.

    The spokeswoman said there were no reports of American casualties.           Enditem
