SANTIAGO, Dec. 4 (Xinhuanet) -- The tennis match between Chilean President Ricardo Lagos and renown Latin American television host Mario Kreutzberger "Don Francisco" collected over 38,000 US dollars in Chile's "Teleton" fund-raiser.
The one-set match in which tennis player Fernando Gonzalez and coach Horacio de la Pena also participated, took place on Saturday in the National Stadium here for the benefit of handicapped children.
Because of an inguinal-hernia operation, Olympic medalist Nicolas Massu could not take part in the match, but he served as the referee of the game. He was replaced by coach Fernando Gonzalez, who is the head of the national Davis Cup team.
The charity match lasted nearly one hour. Enditem |
