BEIJING, Nov. 30 (Xinhuanet) -- Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao has sent a congratulatory message to the Special Commemorative Meeting for the International Day of Solidarity of the Palestinian People.

Wen Jiabao extended his warmest congratulations on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, on behalf of the Chinese government and people, China Radio International reported Tuesday.

He also expressed his deep condolences over the recent death of Palestinian President Yasser Arafat, and his heartfelt sympathy to the Palestinian National Authority.

The Premier said the restoration of the Palestinian people's legitimate rights, including the right to statehood, should be the primary objective of the efforts to resolve the Middle East issue.

He called on the international community to help Israel and Palestine end violence and resume talks at an early date so as to rebuild mutual trust and implement the roadmap plan.

In another development, UN Secretary-general Kofi Annan delivered a speech for the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, stressing UN support for the Palestinian people's just course. He called on parties concerned to fully implement Middle East "Roadmap" peace plan, and reiterated that the United Nations will continue to help Middle East people to realize a complete and lasting peace.
