Fatah condemns assassination of university lecturer in Gaza
www.chinaview.cn 2004-11-28 21:54:02

GAZA, Nov. 28 (Xinhuanet) -- Palestinian mainstream Fatah movement on Sunday condemned the Saturday assassination of Yasser alMadhoun, a lecturer in the University of al Azhar in the Gaza Strip.

In a leaflet sent to reporters, the movement said its Highest Committee held an urgent meeting on the incident, which expressed the absolute rejection and condemnation for the assassination carried out against the university lecturer.

The movement would coordinate with the authorized sides in the Palestinian National Authority in a bid to find the criminals and turn them to jurisdiction, said the leaflet.

Fatah, meanwhile, urged the Palestinian factions and its supporters to strengthen the national unity and keep the sanctity of the universities.

On Saturday, Yasser al Madhoun, 27, a lecturer in statistics, was killed when a bomb "planted under his seat in his own room at the university" exploded. Investigation into the incident was underway.  Enditem
