BAGHDAD, Nov. 24 (Xinhuanet) -- A convoy of Nineveh province's deputy governor came under fire Wednesday in Iraq's northern city of Mosul, killing one of his bodyguards and a member of the Interior Ministry special forces, the deputy governor said.
Two other bodyguards were wounded, Khesro Gouran said, including his brother, who also works as a bodyguard, in the attack which took place at about 1:00 p.m.(1000 GMT) near the city administration building.
Authorities of the city are probing the incident for the possibility that the convoy was mistakenly fired upon by the Interior Ministry special forces in the area.
Mosul, some 400 km north of Baghdad, has long been a flashpoint of violence and insurgency against the US-led occupation forces and its Iraqi allies. Enditem
