ĦĦHONG KONG, Nov. 23 (Xinhuanet) -- Hong Kong's Secretary for
Financial Services and the Treasury Frederick Ma will lead a 120-strong
delegation to Beijing on Nov. 25 and 26 for a forum on management of insurance
funds.
Organized by the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau
(FSTB), the forum aims at helping the exchange of experience in managing funds
between the Chinese mainland insurance industry and Hong Kong's financial
services sector, in particular the asset management industry. The forum also
provides an opportunity for Hong Kong to promote its strengths in serving as a
global investment platform for the mainland, an FSTB spokesman said Tuesday.
"With the continuous growth of and recent
developments in the mainland insurance sector, the forum is timely in
facilitating exchange among participants of their experience and strategies in
managing and investing insurance funds, as well as the investment opportunities
ahead," he added.
The forum has gained tremendous support in both the
mainland and Hong Kong. Co-organisers of the event include the Insurance
Association of China, Hong Kong Investment Funds Association, the Hong Kong
Capital Markets Association, Hong Kong Federation of Insurers, Hong Kong
Exchanges and Clearing Ltd, and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. Enditem
