RAMALLAH, Nov. 23 (Xinhuanet) -- Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails called on Tuesday the Palestinian leadership to ensure their participation in the presidential elections.
"The prisoners are a part of the Palestinian people and have theright to vote and to participate at the elections," PLO's executivecommittee member Abed al Rahim Malouh, who was imprisoned two days ago, said in a statement on behalf of the prisoners.
The prisoners demanded that all political and social forces as well as the Palestinian election committee should work with International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) and United Nations to guarantee the honesty of election, according to the statement.
"The presidential, legislative and municipal elections is legal right to all Palestinians and a national duty to face the Israeli occupation and its political procedures," said the statement. Enditem
