SHARM EL-SHEIKH, Egypt, Nov. 22 (Xinhuanet) -- Foreign ministers ofIraq's
neighboring countries met Monday in the Egyptian Red Sea resort of Sharm
El-Sheikh amid US and Iraqi requests for tougher border controls to stop foreign
militants from infiltrating into the war-torn country.
Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul Gheit, host of the meeting,and Iraqi
interim Foreign Minster Hoshiar al-Zibari attended the meeting.
The meeting came amid repeated US and Iraqi requests that Iraq'sneighboring
countries should try harder to tighten their porous borders with Iraq, where the
US-Iraqi forces have been struggling to bring a bloody insurgency campaign under
control.
The US military claims a large number of foreign militants have infiltrated
into Iraq, exacerbating the situation in the country. Enditem
