Explosion occurs in Myanmar capital

    YANGON, Nov. 18 (Xinhuanet) -- An explosion occurred in front of the Western Yangon District Court here before dawn on Friday, damaging a small store nearby, eyewitnesses said.

    Heavy smoke went up in the air after the blast at about 4 a.m.,which was believed to have been caused by a small bomb, at the court also known as the Child Court, the eyewitnesses added.

    However, there was no casualties caused by the explosion.

    The authorities have not confirmed the cause of the blast and the motive of the manned incident.

    Local army units and police have rushed to the scene to clear the wreckage.

    This was another explosion since late last June when three small time-bombs went off over a bridge near the Yangon Railway Station with four mines found unexploded and no casualties were caused then. Enditem
