TOKYO, Nov. 16 (Xinhuanet) -- Japanese police and firefighters conducted a joint drill on Tuesday for a chemical attack at a monorail station near a new terminal building at Tokyo's Haneda domestic-route airport.
About 150 people participated in the drill near Haneda Airport Terminal 2, which will open December 1.
The drill involved a scenario, in which passengers on a monorail train that just arrived become sick after gas is released from a plastic container found in the train, the police said.
The Tokyo police deployed members of the Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical Terrorism Investigative Unit to the platform of the station, which will also open that day.
They practiced rescuing victims and eliminating the poisonous gas.
Tokyo Monorail Co. has built the station to transport passengers to the new terminal. Enditem
