Spanish police arrest two Pakistanis in anti-terror operation

MADRID, Nov. 10 (Xinhuanet) -- The Spanish police arrested two Pakistanis in fresh anti-terror operations against remnants of a network that was dismantled in September, police sources said Wednesday.

The captures were made when police raided five locations in Barcelona's Raval neighborhood, where Pakistani communities are located, police said.

Police said the two arrested were suspected of having links with a group that helped finance the Al-Qaeda terrorist network through money transfers to Pakistan.

The new captures were a continuation of raids carried out in September, in which police arrested 10 of the group's members.

Drugs, forged documents and videos showing images of well-known buildings in Barcelona, including the World Trade Center and the Maremagnum leisure center, were found with the 10 suspects.

According to the authorities, the group is not suspected of involvement in the March 11 train bombings in Madrid, the country's deadliest terrorist attack that killed 191 people.

The two Pakistani suspects are expected to be taken to the National Court in Madrid in the coming days for questioning by Judge Ismael Moreno. Enditem
