| CLAMART, France, Nov. 9 (Xinhuanet) -- The four-man delegation of Palestinian leaders
arrived Tuesday at the Percy military hospital here, near Paris, where
Yasser Arafat is reportedly in a deep coma.
The four Palestinian leaders are Prime Minister Ahmed Qurei, Foreign
Minister Nabil Shaath, acting Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) leader
Mahmoud Abbas and Parliamentary Speaker Rawhi Fattuh.
Earlier, a hospital spokesman said Arafat's condition has worsen overnight.
"The state of health of President Yasser Arafat deteriorated inthe night of
November 8 to 9, 2004. The state of coma which led tohis admission to the
intensive care unit became deeper this morning," Gen. Christian Estripeau, the
chief doctor treating Arafat, read a statement outside the hospital where dozens
of reporters were waiting for reports of Arafat's condition.
The four high-level Palestinian leaders arrived in Paris on Monday evening.
But they had canceled the visit after Arafat's wife Suha said that they wanted
to "bury Arafat alive" to inherit his power. Enditem |
