BAGHDAD, Nov. 8 (Xinhuanet) -- A US soldier was killed on Mondaywhen his patrol came under the insurgents' fire in eastern Baghdad,the US military said.

    "A Task Force Baghdad soldier was killed when a patrol cameunder small arms fire in eastern Baghdad at approximately 3:15 p.m.(1215 GMT) today (Monday)," a military statement said, withoutgiving further details.

    The death toll of US soldiers killed in Iraq since the invasionlast March has risen to over 1,120. Enditem
