GAZA, Nov. 8 (Xinhuanet) -- The Israeli army stormed the Hashasheen area in the southern Gaza Strip town of Rafah on Monday morning, arresting some 10 Palestinians and seriously wounding a child, witnesses and medics said.

They said more than 50 Israeli tanks and armored vehicles rolled into the area near the Jewish settlement of Morag before dawn.

Several residential houses were demolished and two others were searched into, with 10 Palestinians arrested.

Meanwhile, medics at Abu Youssef al-Najjar Hospital in Rafah said a 13-year-old Palestinian child was critically wounded when Israeli troops stationed near the borderline with Egypt opened random but intensive fire on the residents' houses. Enditem
