| RAMALLAH, Nov. 8 (Xinhuanet) -- Chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat said Monday
that the national security council has passed a security plan which will be
implemented soon to guarantee order and law in the West Bank and Gaza.
Erekat told Voice of Palestine radio that under the plan security police
will be reinforced in the territories to stop a possible internal chaos.
He said Prime Minister Ahmed Qurei had informed the council of his positive
meeting with other factions, including Hamas, in Gaza.
"The leadership has condensed consultations in attempt to avoid a possible
chaos in the territories if Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat passes away,"
Erekat said.
On Sunday afternoon, Qurei held a session in the West bank city of Ramallah
with the council and endorsed the security plan. Enditem
