    LONDON, Nov. 6 (Xinhuanet) -- Six people have been confirmed dead with another 11 seriously injured after a high-speed train hit a car on a level crossing and derailed Saturday night in southeastern England, police said.

    The train, the First Great Western express, leaving London's Paddington at 1735 GMT to Plymouth, was in collision with a car ataround 1815 GMT at an automatic barrier crossing at Ufton Nervet, Berkshire, where is some 65 kms west of London.

    Deputy Chief Constable Andy Trotter of British Transport Policesaid 11 people were seriously injured, 25 had minor injuries.

    Earlier, John Divall, the spokesman for the Royal Berkshire Ambulance NHS Trust, said there have been some 150 causalities, including more than 100 walking wounded and "a number of fatalities."

    About nine carriages are believed to have been derailed, some overturned, and six people may still be trapped inside the wreckage.

    Emergency workers who use the cutting equipment to search for trapped passengers will continue to work through the night, local media said. Enditem
