Hamas says it is sensitive, decisive period
www.chinaview.cn 2004-11-06 21:19:54

GAZA, Nov. 6 (Xinhuanet) -- A spokesman of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) told Xinhua on Saturday that the current period was sensitive and decisive, calling for forming a united national leadership.

Sami Abu Zuhri made the remarks before a meeting between Palestinian Prime Minister Ahmed Qurei and various factions in
Gaza.

"The movement will demand for forming a united national leadership," Abu Zuhri said, adding that the Palestinian resistance against an Israeli occupation will go on.

He said that Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat's health condition was serious, therefore, it was necessary to demand for forming a united national leadership.

Asked about whether Hamas is asked to stop firing Qassam rockets and mortar shells, Abu Zuhri said that the movement would ask those people to offer help to protect the Palestinian people. Enditem
