BAGHDAD, Nov. 6 (Xinhuanet) -- Fourteen US marines were wounded in action in the restive Iraqi city of Ramadi on Saturday, a US military spokesman said in a statement.
"Fourteen soldiers assigned to the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force were wounded in action today while conducting increased security operations in Ramadi," the statement said.
Ramadi, 100 km west of Baghdad, was another insurgents' bastion like the flashpoint city of Fallujah.
It remained on the top list of restive cities to be retaken from the rebels ahead of the national elections due in January. Enditem |
