GAZA, Nov. 5 (Xinhuanet) -- Palestinian Minister for Foreign Affairs Nabil Shaath announced Friday that Prime Minister Ahmed Qurei would head to Gaza on Saturday to meet with representatives of militant groups and factions.
Shaath told reporters here that Qurei's meeting with the factions on Saturday most probably to study the situation following reports that Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat's health had deteriorated.
Earlier, Sami Abu Zuhri, a spokesman for the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) announced that Qurei's bureau in Ramallah had contacted him to set up an appointment for a meeting in Gaza on Saturday.
"The meeting would focus on the latest developments after the deterioration of Arafat's health conditions," Abu Zhuri said, adding that "the situation is very serious and needs meetings and contacts to rescue it from deterioration." Enditem
