Republicans predicted to retain control in US House

    WASHINGTON, Nov. 2 (Xinhuanet) -- Republicans would retain controlin the 435-seat US House of Representatives, the CBS and ABC television networks predicted after analyzing early returns of theHouse races held Tuesday.

    Currently, the House has 227 Republicans, 205 Democrats, one Independent and two vacancies in seats formerly held by Republicans.

    At least 218 seats are needed for majority in the House.

    Regarding the Senate races, the Fox news channel reported a Republican victory over Democrats. According to the Fox news, Republicans will remain in control of the Senate with a 53-46 advantage. Enditem
