Bush wins a total of 66 electoral votes; Kerry 77

    WASHINGTON, Nov. 2 (Xinhuanet) -- US Republican presidential candidate George W. Bush won a total of 66 electoral votes after claiming three more states of Alabama, Oklahoma and Tennessee, in the 2004 elections on Tuesday, CNN said, citing exit polls.

    Kerry won a total of 77 electoral votes after adding Delaware, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and three of the four electoral votes inMaine to his victory. The fourth electoral vote in Maine was too close to call.

    Bush has already won seven states and Kerry nine states. A candidate needs a total of 270 electoral votes to win the presidency. Enditem
