RAMALLAH, Nov. 2 (Xinhuanet) -- Palestinian Prime Minister Ahmed Qurei condemned on Tuesday Israel's operation in the northern West Bank town of Nablus, during which four Palestinians, including a child, were killed.
Israel was seeking, by escalating violence against the Palestinians, to keep the cycle of violence going on, Qurei told reporters.
Three Palestinian militants and a 12-year-old boy were shot dead Monday by Israeli gunfire in Nablus after Israeli forces stormed the town and two neighboring refugee camps.
"We expected Israel to deal with the situation in self-restraintand calmness, but Israel's policy of using violence continued despite the Palestinian leadership's condemnation of a bombing attack," said Qurei.
He also accused Israel of "giving the escalation of violence between Israel and the Palestinians excuses, justification and reasons."
Massive Israeli forces stormed Nablus late Monday and surrounded the refugee camps of Balata and Askar following an earlier suicide bombing attack carried out by a young Palestinian militant in Tel Aviv, which killed at least three Israelis and wounded 30 others. Enditem
