BEIJING, Nov. 1 (Xinhuanet) -- US President George W. Bush and Democrat
challenger John Kerry have begun a frantic sprint to the end of their
presidential campaigns. Latest polls show the race for the White House remains
too close to calls.
Sunday saw Bush traveling across Florida. There he won a strong endorsement
from retired General Norman Schwarzkopf, who led America against Saddam Hussein
more than a decade ago.
Meanwhile, Democrat candidate Senator John Kerry was firing back on his
campaign trail in Manchester, New Hampshire. He said he would take unprecedented
measures to protect national security, which would include quick Cabinet
appointments. With little new to say, both candidates were focusing on
energizing their supporters.
