GAZA, Oct. 31 (Xinhuanet) -- A Palestinian official said on Sunday that the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) was making contacts with Arab and foreign countries to guarantee Arafat's return to Ramallah after he finished his medical treatment in Paris.

; Jibril Rajoub, a senior security advisor to Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, said the PNA held contacts with both Egypt and the United States, stressing that Arafat must come back to the West Bank.

On Friday, Arafat was flown to France from Ramallah via Jordan for immediate medical treatment as suspicion arose that he suffered from leukemia, which was denied by both Palestinian officials and French doctors.

"There are guarantees made by Israel to the world to let President Arafat return to Ramallah and such guarantees must be implemented," said Rajoub.

French doctors at the Percy military hospital's hematologyclinic in Paris said Saturday that Arafat was in a stable condition and it would take five weeks for him to finish the medical exams and treatments.

They said the initial checkups showed that Arafat's health was stable, and he may get back to the Palestinian territories soon.Enditem
