WARSAW, Oct. 27 (Xinhuanet) -- Poland and Iraq signed a military
cooperation agreement Wednesday under which Poland will provide military
equipment to Iraq and train Iraqi armed forces.
The two countries will also exchange information on security and defense.
The agreement was signed by Polish Vice Defense Minister JanuszZemke and
Bruska Shaways, secretary-general of the Iraqi Defense Ministry, in Warsaw.
Iraq has signed a contract with Poland for the purchase of 60 million US
dollars worth of military equipment, Zemke told reporters before the signing of
the agreement.
Poland commands a 6,000-strong multinational force in the southof Iraq, of
whom 2,500 are Polish soldiers. Enditem |
