SANTIAGO, Oct. 25 (Xinhuanet)-- Chilean Defense Minister Jaime Ravinet and
his Argentine counterpart Jose Pampuro met at the Chilean capital of Santiago
and stressed their cooperation in military field, Chile's Defense Ministry said
Monday.
The ministry
said both ministers discussed issues regarding security and defense within the
framework of cooperation, transparency and mutual confidence.
Ravinet and Pampuro addressed issues related to regional security,
environmental cooperation and actions to removing landmines, added the ministry.
The two ministers also discussed the possibility of sending a
Chilean-Argentine contingent for the United Nations Mission for the
Stabilization of Haiti, and the challenges and opportunities represented by the
coming Meeting of Defense Ministers of the Americas, which will be held in
