GAZA, Oct. 25 (Xinhuanet) -- The Fatah movement, chaired by Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, on Monday called on the international community to immediately step in to stop an Israeli attack on the southern Gaza Strip city of Khan Yunis.
Fatah circulated a leaflet, condemning the attack on al Namsawi neighborhood and Baten al Semen area in Khan Yunis, which killed 14 Palestinians and wounded 70 others.
The leaflet warned of the serious situation in the city, saying that assassinating Palestinian militants and killing civilians and children would bear bad results on the Israelis.
"We call on the UN Security Council to immediately interfere to stop the Israeli attack," the leaflet said.
Earlier in the day, a 19-year-old Palestinian man was killed by Israeli fire in Khan Yunis, bringing the death toll of the Israeli attack to 14.
Medics in Nasser hospital said that Mohammed Abu Khader was killed in al Namsawi neighborhood when Israeli tanks opened intensive fire on local residents. Enditem
