BEIJING, Oct. 24 (Xinhuanet) -- The 17th Tokyo International Film
Festival got off to a chaotic start on Saturday night, after three quakes
disrupted proceedings.
Before the quakes, the festival had gotten off to a glitzy start, China
Radio International reported Sunday.
Japanese A-list directors such as Yamada, Yoji and Takashi Miike set off
quite a frenzy of flashbulbs on the red carpet.
Chinese film "Jasmine Women" starring one of China's top actress, Zhang
Ziyi, screens on the first day of the festival.
A new Hong Kong flick "Princess's Revenge", starring Hong Kong actor Daniel
Wu, pop star Charlene Choi from the duo Twins, and Chinese mainland actress Tao
Hong, is among the nominations to be awarded.
High-profile guests expected to attend include Tom Hanks, Gwyneth Paltrow,
Jude Law, Kevin Kline and Josh Hartnett.
The festival runs until October 31.
