HAVANA, Oct. 23 (Xinhuanet) -- Presidents of some Latin American countries have sent messages for a prompt recovery to Cuban leader Fidel Castro, who injured a knee and an arm after a fall on Wednesday.

Presidents of Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Venezuela and Mexico, as well as 1982 Nobel Literature laureate Gabriel Garcia Marquez, and Nicaraguan poet Ernesto Cardenal all wished Castro a speedy recovery, local media reported on Saturday.

Castro, 78, underwent surgery of his left knee and has his right arm immobilized since Wednesday when he tripped in a school of the Cuban city of Santa Clara. Enditem
