GAZA, Oct. 23 (Xinhuanet) -- Ezel Dein al Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of the radical movement Hamas, has executed a Palestinian accused of collaborating with Israel.
AL Qassam said in a leaflet Friday night that it implemented execution on informer Hassan Musallam who was accused of providing information that helped Israel assassinate the group's founder Sheikh Ahmed Yassin and nine others.
Hamas spokesman Musher al-Masri said that the killing of Musallam was meant as a warning to other informers.
"Informers who come and ask forgiveness during the holy month ofRamadan would not be harmed physically," he said.
The leaflet said that Musallam was interrogated and "provided uswith information and details about the way he assisted the Zionist enemy in carrying out the crimes of assassinations."
Israel assassinated dozens of Palestinian militants in targeted attacks, including Yassin in April and his successor, Abdel Aziz Rantisi, one month later.
The leaflet added that the brigades has names and information about many of those involved in collaboration with Israel and will punish them at a suitable time and place.
The brigades called upon the Palestinian people to hand over informers and never protect them, adding that "the brigades would not harm physically those who will recover their senses." Enditem
