TOKYO, Oct. 23 (Xinhuanet) -- US Secretary of State Colin Powell arrived in Tokyo Saturday evening, kicking off his three-nation tour, which also includes China and South Korea.
At his meeting with Japanese Foreign Minister Nobutaka Machimura on Sunday, they will talk about issues concerning bilateral relations, Iraq and situation in the Korean Peninsular, the Japanese Foreign Ministry said.
They are expected to focus on the planned realignment of US troops in Japan and the resumption of six-party talks on the nuclear issue in the Korean Peninsular.
The two allies are negotiating as to how to relocate some US bases in Japan. Complaints, especially from the Okinawa Prefecture, about continuous troubles made by US troops have been a headache for the Japanese government.
Powell is scheduled to leave for China late Sunday. Enditem
