Beijing, Oct. 18 (Xinhuanet) -- Nicole Kidman says director Wong Kar-Wai spent only five weeks to complete the scenes with Gong Li in his new film, The Lady From Shanghai.

She explained that Wong had adopted a new way of working that greatly speeded up the process, but they spent a long time to prepare for the production.

It is the first announcement of Gong Li's involvement.

The full cast list has not been revealed, though Takeshi Kitano's name was mentioned last month.

Kidman said she would start working on the filming sometime next year, after finishing Bewitched, Eucalyptus and The Producers Movie.
