PNA calls for emergency aid to Gaza areas damaged by Israeli offensive

   GAZA, Oct. 17 (Xinhuanet) -- The Palestinian National Authority(PNA) on Sunday called on Arab ambassadors to visit northern Gazaareas damaged by the 16-day Israeli offensive and urged for anemergency assistance, Palestine satellite channel reported.   The PNA Information Ministry asked Arab ambassadors andrepresentatives of friendly nations to see themselves thedestruction at Jabalya camp, Beit-Lahia and other areas whichsuffered massive damage during the Israeli offensive, said thereport.

   Israel Army forces start launching the military operation code-named Days of Penitence in northern Gaza on Sept. 28 in an attemptto stop rocket firing into Jewish settlements. Some 129Palestinians have reportedly been killed in the 16-day incursion.   The Israeli incursion has left behind a humanitariancatastrophe, the PNA ministry was quoted as saying.   Arab nations should offer emergency aid to the PNA to help itwith the reconstruction of houses and infrastructure destroyed bythe Israeli offensive, urged the ministry.  Enditem
