9 Iraqi policemen killed in ambush south of Baghdad

   BAGHDAD, Oct. 17 (Xinhuanet) -- Nine Iraqi policemen returning from a training course in Jordan were killed in an ambush as they were on their way home to Karbala, south of Baghdad, police said Sunday.

   Insurgents attacked their bus on the main road near the flashpoint town of Latifiyah, some 25 km south of Baghdad, the police said, adding the attackers escaped the scene after the ambush.  Enditem
