GAZA, Oct. 8 (Xinhuanet) -- A Palestinian was killed and another one injured on Friday night as an Israeli army tank fired a shell at a Palestinian house east of Jabalya refugee camp in northern Gaza Strip, witnesses and medics reported.

   Medics at Kamal Odwan Hospital said that the body of Salama AbuSel'aa, 25, resident of eastern Jabalya was brought on Friday night to the emergency room of the hospital with shrapnel spreading allover his body.

   They said that the shrapnel are a result of Israeli army tank shell that was fired at the young man, adding that another Palestinian was seriously injured and is receiving the proper treatment.

   Witnesses in the neighborhood said that the dead man were shotwhile going to look for water after his family ran out of water because of the onging Israeli army operation in northern Gaza Strip, where the infrastructure of water and sewage was damaged.

   Earlier on Friday, a total of five Palestinians died because ofthe large-scale Israeli military operation which began on Sept.  28,Palestinian medics said.

   Three Palestinians, including a 11-year-old girl, were killed in Friday's violence while the other two died of wounds they sustained a few days ago.

   According to Palestinian medics, the number of Palestinians killed during the ongoing Israeli offensive is about to hit 100,over 30 of whom are children under 16.  Enditem
