GAZA, Oct. 8 (Xinhuanet) -- Four Palestinians died on Friday because of the large-scale Israeli military operation in northern Gaza Strip which began on Sept. 28, Palestinian medics said.

Two Palestinians were killed in Friday's violence while the other two died Friday of wounds they sustained a few days ago, said the medics.

Palestinian witnesses said an Israeli unmanned reconnaissance plane fired a missile at a group of militants who were trying to launch a homemade rocket at southern Israel, adding that the missile killed one militant and wounded five others.

Earlier on Friday, Israeli troops shot dead an 11-year-old Palestinian girl named Samah Nassar in the northern Gaza town of Beit Hanoun, said medics and witnesses, adding that the girl was shot with two bullets in the head and the chest.

The other two Palestinians, who had been critically wounded during the last nine days of Israeli military offensive in northern Gaza Strip died at Gaza hospitals Friday.

Palestinian medics said the number of Palestinians killed during the ongoing offensive is about to hit 100, over 30 of whom are children under 16.  Enditem
